Step 1: Your survey
After you’ve chosen your new kitchen, you will be contacted by your IF Only Installer.
At a date and time that suits you both, they will carry out a detailed technical survey and discuss any gas, electrical or plumbing work that needs doing.
Once your Installer has a full understanding of everything that is required for your installation, we’ll agree a start date with you.
Normally installations are started within 6-8 weeks from order confirmation and generally take on average 7-10 days, depending on project size and complexity.
Step 2: Your delivery
After your start date has been agreed, your IF Only Design Consultant will be in touch to arrange a convenient time for your new kitchen and allied products to be delivered to your home or site.
Step 3: Your installation
Before starting your installation, we will remove your old kitchen and dispose of it professionally and in an environmentally-friendly way. As determined by local regulations relating the disposal of building and household waste.
Every project is unique, so how long your installation takes will depend on the amount and type of work that is required.
As noted above, we offer a complete room solution, so you won’t need to worry about finding different tradespeople for jobs such as gas and electrical work, tiling or flooring.
We want you to have the very best possible installation experience, so there are a few things we’d like you to consider before we start work. You can read about these in our Installation Preparation Guide. It also offers some useful hints and tips to help you complete your new kitchen installation with as little stress as possible.
Step 4: Completion
When we have finished installing your dream kitchen, we will ask you to sign a completion note to confirm that we’ve completed the work to your satisfaction.
Shortly after this, your IF Only Design Consultant will contact you to discuss your installation experience and how you felt it went.
Following on from that, after a couple of weeks, we will check in with you again, to make sure your new kitchen is still meeting your expectations.

Installation Process
Planning your installation in 15 points
We pride ourselves in offering you an installation solution experience that matches the excitement and ease of your design experience.
To help us tailor our services to your individual needs, there are a few things we recommend you consider beforehand to make sure that the process goes exactly the way you want it to:
- When you place your order, let your Design Consultant know your ideal dates for installation. We will schedule the install as close as possible to these dates.
- Your Design Consultant will be on hand throughout the process to offer support and answer any queries. If you haven’t done so already, it’s a good idea to provide your Design Consultant with your mobile and landline phone number, as well as your email address, so they can keep you fully informed throughout the installation.
- Within 7-10 days of placing your order, your Installer will visit your home at your earliest convenience and complete a full survey of the space you are about to transform. This will help ensure that there are no surprises or delays and make the process move forward smoothly and swiftly.
- We fully understand that you have a life that will be carrying on as normal while your installation is under-way, and we want to cause you as little disruption as possible. To help you get organised, your Installer will provide you with a full schedule, detailing what will be happening and when, including approximate dates and times of when electricity, water and other utilities will be disconnected.
- Before your installation begins, we will work with you to find the most convenient date for your kitchen to be delivered. Your new kitchen will arrive boxed up and will likely take up a large amount of space, generally to 50% of standard garage, so make sure to plan ahead so that you’re not inconvenienced.
- Your old kitchen cabinets will need to be emptied completely, and you’ll need a place to store the contents while your new kitchen is being fitted. Remember to keep your essentials – kettle, tea, coffee, milk – accessible. You may not want to be left without the option of having a quick hot drink while the installation is ongoing.
- You will probably have limited access to cooking facilities while the installation work is carried out, so it’s a good idea to plan how you might work around this issue – otherwise it’s takeaways, dinner out or meals in the garden every night.
- Household pets generally don’t tend to find the installation experience much fun or very exciting, so it may be a good idea to consider alternative arrangements, for the duration of the job.
- The IF Only installation team will bring a large bag or arrange for a skip to dispose of any building waste. This is usually kept outside so please consider the best place to store this.
- Your installation will be as swift, professional and stress-free as possible. What it won’t be is quiet and peaceful. We make sure to keep all the inevitable mess and noise to an absolute minimum, as well as ensuring that your water and power will only be turned off at convenient times for you.
- The time between completing your home survey and starting your installation is often short, however, if anything has changed since your order was placed, it’s important to inform your Design Consultant or Installer as soon as possible, so they can anticipate any issues.
- Your Installer will never be too busy to answer questions, offer guidance or provide you with updates on how the project is progressing.
- Each installation is unique, and on rare occasions, unforeseen complications can extend the duration of your installation. While we do everything possible to avoid overrunning, your installer will be open and honest with you about the length of the job and will always let you know as soon as possible if there are going to be any delays.
- Once the project is completed, your Installer will guide you through all the features and benefits of your new dream kitchen.
- Having a new kitchen installed is never an easy or peaceful time, but with good planning, with the general knowledge that depending on project size, your installation should never take longer than 7-10 days to finish.
Sit back and relax, knowing that when it is completed, you can enjoy your new space for as long as you like.
